Photovoltaic Project in Tanzania: Solar lamps for families
Environmentally friendly and healthier - light through solar energy
We can also do without high frequency: Together with the organization time2help, we want to support families & children in Arusha (Tanzania).
Topic: Solar lamps for families when it gets dark
Currently, in Tanzania, when it gets dark in the evening, kerosene lamps are usually turned on. Living in a house with kerosene lamps is equivalent to smoking 40 cigarettes/day. Accordingly, many children are already affected by respiratory diseases because of this. In addition, kerosene lamps are extreme soot emitting, which is harmful to nature.
So how to help?
Families can now choose between a portable and a fixed lamp set. The lamps are pre-financed by us and will be paid back in about 12 months with the same financial burden as before. For nature, of course, the project pays off from day 1, for the families after 12 months, because there are multiple benefits:
1. financially, through the saved kerosene
2. health, because the air stays clean and the light is much brighter, which makes reading and working easier
3. environmentally friendly, because no more kerosene is burned.
We are very happy that in the first attempt 23 families participated in our solar light project and we see happy faces on the pictures.
