Manual Tuners

Example for a manual tuner

Manual tuners are an efficient means of measuring the characteristics of non-linear high-frequency circuits as a function of any complex load or source impedance. To achieve a wide frequency range and therefore a versatile applicability, the slides of the tuners are equipped with two mechanical bodies to adjust the wave reflection. Typical applications are load-pull measurements of amplifiers at varying high frequency power, optimisation of the noise figure of low noise preamplifiers, testing of short circuit strength in case of mismatch and measurement of the load-pull behaviour of oscillators.

The MMT series manufactured by Focus Microwaves covers the frequency range 400 MHz to 18 GHz. It delivers high VSWR at the DUT reference plane with high reliability. Tuning at the harmonics is also possible with the H2 and H23 versions.
