Pulse measuring system MPIV as an extension of the RF design suite FDCS

The MPIV system is an extension of the SW design suite FDCS by Focus-Microwaves for pulsed current-voltage characteristics and pulsed RF measurements (e.g. pulsed S-parameter or load pull measurements). It is designed for DC voltage and single-pulses at GATE and DRAIN. Use requires an FDCS licence with the following SW modules: CalEx, GraphEx, LP-Pulse.

Features of the MPIV modules (applies only to 50W load impedance at GATE and DRAIN)

To make the MPIV cost-effective, the use of an external measuring computer (PC with FDCS installed), external oscilloscope, external voltage source and external current measurement sensors is provided. Current measurement at GATE and DRAIN is carried out via the oscilloscope. Oscilloscope and power supply are controlled via PC interface.

We recommend the following types as current measuring sensors:

  • 1147B AC/DC Current Probe, 50 MHz, 15 A by Keysight
  • N2783B AC/DC Current Probe, 100 MHz, 30 Arms by Keysight
